For chronic cold due to allergy or sinusitis:
10 gms ginger powder
10 gms pepper powder
10 gms pippalimool powder
5 gms ajwain seeds or its powder
5 gms ghee
40-50 gms jaggery (if needed, can be added more until a proper binding is achieved)
Mix all and Make small size pills. If needed, one can increase the amount of jaggery for binding.
Take 1 pill, 3 times a day
1 empty stomach
1 in evening
1 at bedtime
For small kids:
One can make kadha from the same ingredients:
1/4 th teaspoon ginger powder
1/4 th teaspoon pepper powder
1/4 th teaspoon pippalimool powder
1/4 th teaspoon ajwain seeds
100 ml water
Let it boil, till it becomes one fourth in quantity.
Then filter and add 1 teaspoon honey or jaggery, syrup will be ready.
Divide entire syrup into 3 portions:
Give 1 portion, 3 times a day.
For acute sneezing:
1 tea spoon fresh ginger juice
1 tea spoon tulsi leaves juice if available
1 tea spoon honey or jaggery
One can take three times a day.
For pitta prakriti, means those who have burning or acidity, take half tea spoon, three times a day.
Take steam for 15 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day.
Hot salt water gargling, 3 times a day.
Half cup hot Haldi milk, 2 times a day.
For blocked nose:
One can inhale Nilgiri oil
Burn ajwain and cloves on a pan and inhale the fumes. In Ayurveda, it’s called dhoom sevan.
